Silky Disturbance is a diverse, experimental, folk and performance artist, blending story-telling, music and ritual into live shows. Working in a band and solo formation, she writes about structural hierarchies, social resistance and the political landscape through an abstract lens, using mythology as a tool for healing. Collective song, drones, synths and beat heavy design sculpt her compositions, taking influence from the forest and the rave.
“Silky Disturbance is building a sonic language where ritual and resistance are indistinguishable. The rhythms don’t accompany the message—they are the message.”
“There’s a deliberate tension in her work: softness that doesn’t yield, beauty that doesn’t pacify. It’s protest as invocation, not declaration.”
